The Universe Gave Me A Sign

It was a punch in the gut feeling. A wakeup call. A scary one.

Simultaneously, the universe gave me this book: Psycho Cybernetics. As far as I can tell, this book is before manifestation was fru-fru and flight of fancy. At least as I see it (sometimes) sold in our current times. Manifest your dream life and all that.

This book is the fundamentals straight up engineering. If the word manifestation was used anywhere in this book, it was definitely not continually repeated.

Career-wise, I’ve been coasting. And, the universe is lighting me up and making me face it.

At this job, I’m the person who does my job and calls it a day. My new supervisor called me out for not going above and beyond. Every year my organization hosts a variety of events and I’m supposed to volunteer to staff some events. On the weekend.

No bueno.

This time, I got out of it, but next year will not be the same. I will be required to work.

Wait till she finds out I also don’t go to all-staff meetings and the holiday party.

The universe is telling me it’s time to stop coasting. It’s time to do something. To make something happen. If I choose to suck it up and do the extra things a few times a year, then I’m coasting on a whole new level and I know I would not feel good about myself.

It would be like staying in a bad relationship.

I know I gotta dump this homeboy.

It’s time to make quitting my job the goal, not the perk of the goal. Up until now, I figured out an alternate income, then quitting my job would be something I’d get to do. Now, I’ve realized I have to make quitting my focus, my aim.

As for my makeup, my goal was to lighten myself up and feel pretty. Or rather, prettier.

I’ve been experimenting with using concealer, which is newer to my collection. I’m using the Maybelline New York Fit Me Liquid Concealer.* It’s dewy and covers well. The shade I’m using is too light for me, but I’m rolling with it.

My foundation is the Estée Lauder Double Wear.* Right now, it’s my daily go-to.

Always in rotation is the L’Oreal Voluminous Mascara. For years I’ve had this one in my makeup bag. To me, it’s thin and liquidy, which makes it go on smooth and I can layer as thick as I want. I usually start with the Clinique mascara primer, but I think it’s time I try the L’Oreal Voluminous Lash Boosting Conditioning Primer Mascara.* Now officially in my cart.
